Fleetwood Lifeboat Day, Saturday 25th July 2009
Crew members, fundraisers and friends worked tirelessly to put together a day of fun and water displays to celebrate the 150th birthday of Fleetwood Lifeboat.
As usual, we had a glorious day sandwiched between the rain and the public turned out in their hundreds to support the event.
The ALB was called out at 07-30 to look at a broken down angling boat at Wyre Light and then Morecambe Hovercraft was tasked to help with people cut off by the tide at the far side of the bay. Blackpool lifeboat and Fleetwood ILB went to investigate a drifting vessel near Shard Bridge - so a very busy day was had by all !
